A Proud Partnership

A long standing client of ATE, Refuel International, have recently shared insight into their partnership with the Australian Defence Industry. The company have been awarded a substantial contract to work alongside the Australian Government and provide a total of 100 aviation refuelling vehicles of the Defence Industry.

ATE have proudly engineered and manufactured the aviation refuelling tankers, currently under distribution to the Defence Industry.

The significant partnership between all parties has made a valuable impact to the Australian growing workforce, as well as keeping our countries products Australian Made.

Australian Made and Owned

Recently, we have received a number of enquiries from our clients and suppliers regarding what the “Australian Made” certification is all about.

There have been various observations of companies that claim they are “Australian owned”, “Proudly 100% Australian” or using terms such as “Built in Australia.”

But what does it really mean?

Many general country of origin claims (like “Made in Australia” – minus the Aussie Made logo) refer to the production/manufacture, rather than products content. This claim is made to disguise that these companies warehouse or sell a product that is actually manufactured overseas and imported into Australia.

This veneer of “Australian-ness” can be misleading.

A product that carries the genuine “Australian Made” certification buys its raw materials from local suppliers (some of whom may even import the product), and satisfies that the goods have:

  • passed a substantial transformation test in Australia i.e. the product must be manufactured here in Australia not just packaged or assembled.

Businesses should have a reasonable basis for making “country of origin” claims and be able to substantiate their claims through facts and figures, not guesses or unsupported opinions.

ATE Tankers is the only tanker manufacturer in the world that has obtained the iconic “Australian Made” trademark – providing our clients with clear, accurate and truthful information about what they are buying.

A Fast Fact:

As an example, an employment comparison between “Proudly Australian” and “Australian Made” using ATE Tankers shows the large job increase when a company is a genuine Australian Manufacturer:

  • If we imported our tankers from overseas, this would result in a reduction of around 83% less staff
  • 83% more people are employed because we choose to be an Australian manufacturer and not an importer.

2017 Brisbane Truck Show

We are back from the 2017 Brisbane Truck Show and ready for another roaring week!

We experienced a great few days up in Brisbane, viewing exhibits of many key industry partners, whilst catching up with our interstate clients and suppliers.

Now, back to focus on what we do best....

The Final Two

This week we placed great emphasis on the delivery of the final two tankers of several for our Client, Caltex.

The two Rigid Mounted (8,500L) Tankers shown were designed to “keep the operator in mind”, and fitted with the latest Dispensing Systems (delivering both petrol & diesel).

With increasing regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods, we are continuing to aggressively integrate and develop best practices across our business. Our clients require high levels of service with regard to regulatory and national compliance, which we emphasise through extensive training and consistent analysis of our operating performance and process.

At ATE, we believe our collective experience provides a key strength in managing and driving our growth.

After enduring a heavy hit by an excavator during a diesel delivery, the cab of this Isuzu truck was completely destroyed (the driver thankfully unharmed).  Project Managed by our new Service Team Lead, all equipment was removed from the truck and reinstated to this brand new horse.

At ATE, we appreciate a variety of challenges and offer a full range of products and services to help. Yet our operations are bound by one common thread – our business principles - which are based on our values of honesty, integrity and respect for people in everything we do.

We recognise that maintaining the confidence and trust of our clients is paramount to our success.

Meeting Australian Welding Standards

The road transport sector for dangerous goods has become highly regulated.

We ensure our tankers are built to Australian welding standards AS1665 (aluminium) and AS1554 (steel). The precision and effort that goes into each tanker by our professional team of welders is undeniably one of the strengths we pride ourselves on.

With all tankers made locally in Australia, our team is well trained to produce and exceed Australian Standards AS2809. Every tanker built by ATE is also accompanied with verifiable proof of individual welder certification.
